Setting Up Email

When you are using domains with CPanel, you can set up your own email accounts within the domain mail system so that people can contact you at your own domain. Here's how it's done.

Step One: In CPanel, click on the icon for MAIL in the top left hand corner.

Step Two: Now click on Add/Remove/Manage Accounts

Step Three: In the dialogue box, create your new Mail Account Name, give it a PASSWORD, and allocate some disk space so that you can keep mails on the server until you fetch them in your Outlook or Outlook Express Mail System.

(This is just my example below - you'll need to make your own.)

Step Four: When finished, hit the CREATE button in the lower left corner of the screen (Make sure you don't unintentionally hit CLEAR on the right hand side !) The following screen will appear (note that this is just my example !)

Step Five: The end result will appear when you Go Back. Here's the last stage of my example, below.

Step Six: Setting up your Outlook Mailbox. From the image above, click on the "Configure Outlook" text. The following dialogue box will appear.

Now you'll need to know the type of sftware that youare running on your PC (sorry Mac users !)

Most people will have just Microsoft Outlook Express and will want POP3 Access. If that's the case, just click that green link #4 from the list offered in the pile. If installing it this way doens't work, then you may need to try a manual install.

Manual Install: You'll need to get into your Outlook Accounts and create another account to do this - just find the right spot for the settings below under Manual Settings and install from there.

Step Seven: Outlook Settings.

Check the following screen shots to see that your settings are correct. Note that you'll also need your DOMAIN Username and Password to enter into your mail account under "USERNAME" and "PASSWORD".
